Abstract
Within the field of child protection, studies and research highlight the importance of listening to children and taking into account their perspectives in decision-making processes that affect them directly. The article focuses on children’s participation in their own foster care planning and implementation and presents the results of a quantitative research carried out on Italian foster care placements. Starting with a documentary analysis of the case files of fostered children, reflections regarding child protection professionals’ practices are noted and some suggestions are made to promote children participation.
