Abstract
The paper offers a reading of Pacuvius’ fragments 211.143-5 and 18.139 R.3 from the tragedy named
Dulorestes. Both texts seem to come from a scene, in which Orestes and Electra decide definitely to commit
matricide. The main theme of the fragments is the nature of relationship and feelings between parents and children.
A deep analysis of the verses and their possible Greek models seems to provide new evidence of how the
poet practiced the well-known technique of Romanisierung in this context.
