Reviewing a century old researches into local history together with more recent studies in the history of architecture, this paper aims at signaling a number of archival resources that could be useful in finding documentary material concerning the Benedictine monastery of S. Maria delle Grazie. This small settlement belonging to the congregation of St. Giustina, although 'squashed' between the greater and more famous abbeys of St. Giovanni Evangelista in Parma and of St. Sisto in Piacenza, hosted many important figures of the Cassinese cultural and spiritual life during the Modern Ages.
