Disegnare, modellare, intagliare, cucire: gli arazzi e i gioielli di Luisa Albertini

Risultato della ricerca: Contributo in libroChapter

Abstract

Luisa Albertini was an artist fascinated by the world of the symbolic, the original and ancient primitive civilisations. The subjects of her enamels first and the tapestries, which she has been producing since the 1960s, reveal suggestions drawn from her many interests in art history, handicrafts and popular culture. Imagination, dreams, the dark and mysterious forces of reality, are areas that are extremely important to her and give rise to highly original motifs in her tapestries. This essay is specifically dedicated to this area of her work: inlaid textile works, created since the 1970s with assemblages of textile materials (hemp, linen, jute, cotton or cloth). Archival research has revealed the sources of his creative world, his contacts with the Milanese cultural milieu of the 1950s and 1960s and with the international cultural milieu.
