Abstract
The editorial sketches the lines of new legal medicine review, seeking a renewal in method and content, to be based on a dialogue between lawyers of different skills and cultural backgrounds, forensic scientists, criminologists and whatever scientists may be interested in legal matters. The review wll focus among other things on the issues of medical malpractice and liability, the role of sciences in law making and judicial decisions,the legal responses to mental illness, judicial assessmnt of causation and negligence.
