Deflation and Reflection: on Tennant's Criticism of the Conservativeness Argument

In this paper I present Tennant’s criticism to the conservativeness argument. I advance two main theses: first, Tennant’s and Ketland’s positions are in stalemate from a justificatory point of view; second, I think that Tennant’s argument is plausible only if his principle of reflection is admissible. I argue that this principle requires a form of epistemic omega-rule and I cast some doubts about the deflationary status of this assumption.
