DECIPHER: Electronic Patient Records Accessible Abroad

Traveling abroad for business or pleasure is a common and perhaps increasing feature of our modern lives. But as our international travel increases, so does the need for healthcare when abroad. The DECIPHER project (Distributed European Community Individual Patient Healthcare Electronic Record; www.decipherpcp.eu/) is working on new technology that will give healthcare givers and patients access patients' personal health information, if necessary, when they are in other EU countries. Specifically, the project is developing a mobile application that can display patients' health data and can be used as a tool to allow patients to manage their health better when abroad.
