Abstract
The present paper investigates the relationship between Dante Alighieri's work and video games. The first part of the article shows several examples of video games (mainly indie) inspired by Dante. The conspicuous number of these products shows an interest in Divina Commedia that goes beyond the well-known video game Dante's Inferno by Electronic Arts, already analysed by scholars from different fields. In the second part, the article questions about some possible structural influences of the Divina Commedia on the gameplay and the level design of video games. Although it is not possible to identify direct and widespread relationships, at least some similarities can be presented.
