Abstract
Educational relationships always imply a "dark side" (autobiographical roots, affective ambivalences, unconscious dimensions), often unrecognized or even denied, that represent the "submerged" roots of care. This essay aims to identify and reveal the hidden implications of education and care, by discussing the meanings of "shadow" and their possible negative drifts.
