Viktor E. Frankl's intuizione about the will to meaning as a basic motivational tendency in human existence contain some important educational implications. If developed in their consequences, these ideas could lead to a revolutionary pedagogical paradigm. Especially Frankl's statement that education should switch from "transmitting knowledge" to "refining conscience" represents the pivot of an educational curriculum in which the person and his/her intentional relationship to the world is placed in the center and the search for meaning is the key principle of learning and the source of any educational experience.
