Abstract
The dense contribution highlights the complex negotiations that allowed the monks of Monte Oliveto Maggiore to return to the monastery of Rodengo in Franciacorta following their removal due to the Napoleonic suppression; after a reconstruction of the events of the abbey, built in the 11th century as a Cluniac priory and which became an Olivetan foundation in the 15th century, the complex negotiations for the reopening of the monastery and the central role played by Pope Paolo VI in his relaunch.
