Abstract
This article focuses the attention on the evolution of migratory policies in the European landscape during the last 30 years. The author highlights some major contradictions concering: a) the attempt to keep together the limitation of the new entries with the integration of already resident migrants; b) the attempt to keep together the complementarity function assigned to migrant labour with the principle of equal opportunities; c) the attempt to keep together the logic of sicuratiozation and the petitions for inclusion. In the final part, the author describe the possible role of the Church in resolving these contradiction and promoting a sustainable integration.
