Abstract
The essay studies an edition of texts of intermedi and intermezzos, the Raccolta copiosa d'intermedj, published anonymously in 1723. The anthology was intended for theatre operators and circulated very widely, probably reaching St. Petersburg. The mixture of spoken intermedi and intermezzos for music demonstrates the flexibility of the genre, and traces of the reception of French theatre can be seen in the collection. The collection also contains intermedi in Milanese dialect, and it has been possible to attribute some of these texts to the Milanese poet Carlo Maria Maggi.
