Abstract

The paper presents an historical and educational analysis of De Seta’s TV series «Diary of a teacher», comparing it with the school situation of the time. Specifically, it reconstructs the public reflection originated by the broadcasted drama, focusing on the debate about traditional and innovative methods of teaching. Consequently, the research verifies if «Diary of a teacher», which delivered to the collective memory a meaningful learning experience, represented for the Italian teachers a positive or negative model to compare with their own schools.
