Abstract

the present study examines the effect of handle-response correspondence with different types of graspable objects. objects with explicit function, that is, visible function (e.g., teapot), were alternated on the screen with graspable objects with an implicit function, that is, out of sight function (e.g., jug) during an object's material discrimination task. the results show that the type of object modulates the correspondence effect. More precisely, the effect was null with objects having an explicit function and inverted with objects having an implicit function.
