Abstract
Cydia molesta (Busck) is a serious pest in peach fruit orchards in Italy. Insecticides acting
on insect specific metabolic targets like chitin synthesis inhibitor are now greatly preferred in
several Italian integrated pest management guidelines. An increase in the use of an insecticide
is also an increase in the risk of resistance towards the same product. To evaluate the baseline
susceptibility to triflumuron of the eggs and of the mature larvae of C. molesta, a series of
bioassays have been performed. Results of these bioassays will be useful in the future to
evaluate any changes in susceptibility to triflumuron in wild populations of the Oriental Fruit
Moth
