Abstract
This chapter examines the value of educational research as a core competence in the professional identity of educators. In an era focused on efficiency and measurable outcomes, research is reclaimed as a reflective, critical, and transformative space. It enables educators to question their practices, give form and meaning to experience, and sustain the political and generative dimension of their role. Research is not external to educational practice—it is a fundamental device that resists the trivialization of educational work, supporting meaning-making, community-building, and social transformation.
