Abstract
Among the prophets mentioned in the
Koran, one is named John (Yahya). He
is also a prophet who figures
prominently in Christianity, as the
Baptist. In Islam, he appears “as a
prophet among the prophets”, but does
not occupy, as we will discover, the role
of the evangelical preacher of Christ;
although he appears to be closely related
to him.
