Abstract
A normative framework\r\nfor a viable vision of IoT requires\r\na renewed proactive attention —\r\nand moral commitment — towards\r\nhuman agency, namely towards\r\na full concept of humanness and\r\ntowards preserving the features of\r\nhuman action. The preservation and cultivation\r\nof human agency in IoT is especially\r\nat stake as the embedded (and often\r\nembodied) pervasiveness, miniaturization,\r\ndistributed, and networked character\r\nof connections can impair the\r\nhuman ability to control the system\r\nwhile being a part of it.
