Abstract
The Colloquium "Twenty years after the death of Fr. Luigi Cagni, Barnabite, Assyriologist and Hebrew Scholar of Brescia", held at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Brescia gives us the opportunity to recall here the main lines of the research of the eminent Italian orientalist (1929-1998), who emerged from his work as well. A Seminar Studies in the Near East and the Mediterranean was set up and dedicated to his memory, to continue his research on the Hebrew Bible in the historical and cultural context in which it was formed and was transmitted.
