Abstract
The essay reconstructs the history of the Fédération internationale de la jeunesse
catholique (Fijc) and its female branch, the Fédération mondiale des
jeunesses féminines catholique (Fmjfc), which were the expression of Catholic
youth laity in the Fifties and Sixties, involving thousands of youths mostly
from Europe, the United States and Latin America and becoming places of
construction of a global thought. The purpose of this essay is to bring to light
some elements of the complex path of transformation of the cultural paradigms
of Catholic youth in search of new models of social action.
