Abstract
The paper aims to reveal some of the main features of Marty’s thought,\r\nwhile investigating both its original environment and its area of influence—from\r\nthe closest, Swiss educational context to the remotest outcomes developed in\r\nFar-East linguistics and philosophy. Marty’s Austrian editor, the Anglicist Otto\r\nFunke, is examined, on the basis of a number of common features regarding education\r\nand his important role in dissemination.
