Abstract

This article is mainly concerned with the rural markets network developed along XVIIth century in the provinces of Lodi and Cremona, situated at the south of the Spanish Lombardy. In particular, one stresses how the specific configuration of this network was instrumental in fostering smuggling with the surrounding states.
