Abstract
In Alexander’s histories there is information about the many cities he founded
in the course of his expedition. Most of Alexander’s new foundations quickly
decayed after the king’s death, with the luminous exception of Alexandria in Egypt,
certainly favored by the presence of the Ptolemaic court
