Al cuore della scuola: gli interventi di promozione della salute realizzati nella scuola primaria dalla Lega Italiana per la lotta contro i tumori di Milano Monza Brianza

The paper presents prevention and health promotion activities realized by the Italian League Against Tumors (LILT) in primary schools in Milano and Monza Brianza; these interventions are devoted to preventing smoke as a major cause of oncological illnesses. The article shows the evolution of LILT’s interventions in a direction of proximity used as health promotion’s strategy. The paper describes the first project, Fumo City Story, which was a lecture with LILT’s experts presenting the kit Fumo City Story, a narration about damages of smoking. Then it is described the transformation in 2014 of Fumo City Story into Agenti00Sigarette, an interactive intervention using Social Theatre’s methodologies to actively involve children in becoming agents against smoke. For both experiences evaluation studies are presented, realized respectively by Doxa in 2008 and by the department of Psychology of Bicocca University in Milan in 2018. Lastly, the paper illustrates training activities addressed to teachers and parents of children in primary schools; these proposals deal with life skills, considered by LILT fundamental instruments to promote an overall healthy lifestyle.
