Abstract
Reflecting on the uncertainty that hangs over the human condition, this paper explores the need to "inhabit" the future from an ecological perspective in light of the uncertainty generated by climate change and the complexity of so-called hyperobjects. Based on a survey conducted as part of the "UC-Village for the Earth" project - a service-learning experience that promotes civic responsibility and environmental awareness - the analysis invites the recognition of "fear" as a moral sentiment capable of prompting responsibility and action. How, then, can we respond to widespread anxiety and apparent helplessness in the face of global phenomena? The aim is to propose a pedagogical renewal for "ecological conversion" that strengthens the "inner temple" capable of transforming fear into a cognitive resource and generating possible futures based on care, responsibility and respect for the common home.
