A new paradigm: Impressions on the contemporary clinical practices

In recent years, and in particular in the current post-pandemic scenario, the need for a diagnostic paradigm shift has been highlighted for developmental psychology, and mainly for neurodevelopmental disorders. Defining the needs of clinical populations also in relation to any comorbidities from a bio-psychosocial perspective comes to light. In particular, it is interesting to consider how the advent of new technologies has impacted the development of some cognitive abilities especially in digital natives. The use of virtual screens, touchscreens, and digital technologies should be considered as a fundamental element in the investigation of new cognitive profiles.
