Abstract
The work is devoted to the study of the influence of prosodic position of the word on the duration of its segments in
the Finnic varieties of Western Ingria (St. Petersburg region), Lower Luga area: Kurkola Ingrian Finnish, Western Votic, Central and Southern Lower Luga Ingrian, Siberian Ingrian-Finnish mixed idiom. The subject of the study is the duration of segments in two-syllable words that are in the final and initial phrasal positions, and three hypotheses about these durations as a function of the phrasal position (final vs. initial), the ongoing final vowel reduction, and their interaction are tested and fully or partially confirmed
