[Autom. eng. transl.] Although historical lexicology and the lexicography that describes it are fundamental linguistic disciplines, they have been less and less present in recent years and hardly represented at the last IVG congresses. The subject of the planned section should therefore be the historical word in its diverse descriptive dimensions. On the one hand, the planned lectures aim lexicologically at the word as a form of expression of historical varieties and worlds of meaning (literature, law, philosophy, theology, everyday life), as a form of semanticization of culture, society and history as well as intra-, inter- and transpersonal agency within the framework of writing and orality. On the other hand, the challenges to lexicography should be discussed, to describe precisely these diverse aspects appropriately depending on the language level, language variety and user.
