Abstract

The symbolic, cultural and economic-productive meaning of the vine, of the grape and of the wine is been investigated through the artistic sources, with particular regard to the wide area focused around the Ligurian territory in the Middle Ages. Some particular aspects have developed, for example, the mystical wine press, the moderation in the use of wine and the countryside landscape with reference to the Old and New Testament.
