Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Italian historiography has always shown itself to be rather reticent in dealing with problems relating to the history of cultural reception in the media. This is certainly one of the causes of the non-existence of a cultural television history that crosses the institutional perspective of the broadcaster with the "bottom-up" view of the receiver. This paper is a first attempt to propose a possible research path, in order to analyze the presence of television consumption in the popular cultures of Italy in the fifties and sixties. Starting right from the dawn of the national diffusion of the new television medium, it seems in fact possible to trace the sociological and anthropological points of view, which have in their own way dissected the subject through a critical literature of considerable interest, in the context of the social history of culture , in an openly interdisciplinary approach.
