Abstract

Viktor E. Frankl (1905-1997), the founder of Logotherapy and Existential Analysis, third viennese school of psychoterapy after freudian psychoanalysis and adlerian individual psychology, has been an important witness of the 20th century: psychiatrist and philosopher, concentration camps survivor, he detected the "existential vacuum" and the strive for meaning in our society, and proposed a therapy centered on the spiritual resources of the person, on resilience and coping capability. This book represent a systematic and actualized exposition of his thought, exploring its biographical and cultural roots and the most recent suggestions about the application of franklian philosophy to clinical psychology, education, and human resources management.
