Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The generalized situation of economic and financial recession, which since 2008 has shaken a large part of industrialized nations, has produced significant effects on the daily life of Italians. In particular, in our country, experiences of disintermediation of the supply chain, such as solidarity purchasing groups, agricultural markets, peer-to-peer rents, but also sharing practices, have grown as effective strategies to deal with the crisis example of means of transport, or of holiday homes, and forms of self-production of different types, from objects to furnishings, to clothes. Today we hear more and more about cohousing, coworking and swap parties, but this book reveals to us that these are widespread practices even in the past in times of severe recession, such as in the thirties or after the 1973 oil shock. They are experiences reaction to the crisis which have taken different forms over time, and which appear to be characterized by greater awareness. Furthermore, today, the disintermediation of the supply chain, sharing and self-production not only tend to maintain adequate levels of life and well-being, but also promote new forms of consumption, work organization and civil participation. This volume presents to the Italian public the results of research that has explored the daily strategies with which individuals and groups pursue satisfactory levels of well-being and quality of life, combining "ancient" practices with new digital and technological tools. These practices seem to prefigure a different future, oriented towards a more conscious and sustainable use of resources, human capital, spaces, creating and spreading new values and unprecedented forms of civil participation.
