[Autom. eng. transl.] Starting from an innovative interpretation of the international history of the second half of the twentieth century that inserts the Cold War into a long-term global framework, the volume proposes an original analysis of today's world politics. In this perspective, the end of the primacy of the Euro-Atlantic area becomes part of a wider process that coincides with an ongoing hegemonic transition and the reactivation of imperial systems. It is a set of scenarios and processes that are directing the system of international relations towards a future that resembles our past, but "with electricity".
