Abstract

This work delineate the story of the dictionaries written by Raoul Boch from 1978 to 2000. The dictionaries are situated in the historical context of the two countries, then the legislation governing schools, the publisher Zanichelli and the author’s biography are presented. The formal aspects, the paratext and the microstructure are examined, then the focus is put on the main innovations, such as the subdivision of homonyms, the choice of the frequency principle and the introduction of cultural notes.
