Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] If all literary and artistic creations arouse different sensations and associations in each reader and user, few works reveal themselves to be as rich and, at the same time, as mysterious as The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Afanas'evič Bulgakov. Upon close reading, the text suggests subtle references to the fundamental theme of truth, but places this reflection against the background of a 'kaleidoscope' of episodes which, not infrequently, overflow into horror and brutality. In an overflowing "show" in which multiple characters intervene, the delicate task of "putting a mad society back together" is entrusted to the Devil and his followers, who can only use the weapons they know. Injuries, murders, fires are, however, functional to the restoration of civilization. Bulgakov's Devil, far from reaching the Earth to impose darkness, wants to demonstrate how the heart of human knowledge lies in the interpenetration of light and shadow.
