Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The short monograph is presented as a pathway in Latin literature (prose and poetry) with regard to the topic of ecphrasty, in particular oriented to the ekphraseis having as object Venus and its representations. The volume offers unpublished translations by the author with a brief introductory commentary for each of them and a general introduction on the theme of ekphrasis in ancient literature and on the problem of enargheia (evidentia)
