Abstract

Evaluation is increasingly present in educator’s professional practice. However, the pedagogical attention to the issue, especially to methodological dimension, seem to need further investigation and instruments, turned to build and strengthen the skills of operators. Is really important for evaluators to deal from time to time the complexity of real situations and to adopt consistent and useful methodological choices in response, not forgetting aimed objectives and overall system. In education and training the evaluation has meaning and value if it is imbued with intentionality. This book presents two evaluation experience bringing the original documents in their entirety, so it’s possible to examine the processes of genesis and development, including the difficulties encountered and the strategies pursued to resolve them, that usually does not emerge from official reports. The first project described aims to involve all secondary schools of second degree of Milan about life skills; the second one is a comprehensive plan for the training of same municipality early childhood educators. The two projects are completed with boxes and in-depth methodological explanations about the reasons to make different choices. The volume would be a support tool for methodological area students, teachers and social and educational services practitioners who want to consolidate their assessment and planning skills.
