Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] In this note we address the issue of verifying the usurability of interest rates, focusing in particular on some methodological profiles. In recent years, a procedure for verifying usury has been partially spread, based on the use of a formula for calculating the rate applied to the loan other than that envisaged by the Bank of Italy. We show that this singular procedure - which provides for a comparison between the rate applied to the debtor and the threshold rate carried out on totally non-homogeneous bases - is unreliable because it is vitiated by serious errors and can even lead to paradoxical results
