Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] The contribution is dedicated to the crime of usury, one of the most significant cases in the field of property crime. Given a brief historical reconstruction aimed at highlighting the non-homogeneous path of the indictment of this criminal conduct, the paper examines the constituent elements of the crime pursuant to art. 644 of the Criminal Code, highlighting problematic profiles (in particular, the determination of the usurious rate) and applicative implications in judicial practice. The final section of the contribution illustrates the different strategies (solidaristic and preventive) implemented by the Italian legislator for the suppression of the usurious phenomenon.
