Abstract
This article is dealing with management of financial issues by ordinary people and charitable institutions in early modern Europe, with a special focus on Northern Italy. In particular, it emphasizes the big amount of credit instruments transferred into the so-called patrimony of the poor, as a way of improving the quality of credit.
