Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The exit on the territory represents one of the methods of greater practical utility and of greater educational and educational value in the scholastic geographical work because it offers an important contribution to the development of spatial intelligence, to the knowledge of the territory and its complexity, to the development of images on the world and the education of a critical eye for an active and responsible citizenship. The paper proposes a methodological reflection on the issue on the ground and examines both the main cognitive obstacles the student encounters in the study of geography and the environment (the long duration of the phenomena involved, the impossibility of directly observing the forces agents and processes that shape and transform the landscape, etc.), and the risks of "reification" and "naturalization" inherent in the methodology in question.
