Urban regeneration perspectives under the NRRP

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

The work reconstructs the path that led to urban regeneration establishing itself as a strategic content of urban planning, the objectives that the NRRP reserves for urban regeneration interventions and the contents of the relevant bill currently before Parliament. A picture emerges in which urban regeneration appears to be closely linked to the need to ensure the environmental sustainability of urban development. In view of this, regeneration is the means for achieving these objectives, while at the same time ensuring that urban centres can adapt to evolving and changing social, economic and demographic needs.
