Abstract
Merkel cell carcinoma is a rare, aggressive, malignant cutaneous tumor of the elderly or immunosuppressed individuals that usually appears on sun-exposed areas of the body. Its pathogenesis is still debated, and, currently, no standardized treatment exists.
