Abstract
[Autom. eng. transl.] Kafka's work contains numerous architectural images. Some of them refer to tangible, concrete buildings, such as the Chinese Imperial Palace ("The Trial") or Prague Castle ("The Castle"), others move in an abstract, literary dimension ("The Advocate"). Their purpose, however, is the same: they symbolize a supernatural, eternal sphere that is accessible to humans by dissolving their own ego. This article aims to demonstrate that Kafka's buildings contain the mystical ideas of human ascent into the halls of heaven and the creation of the world through the emanation of several palaces of light.
