Abstract

Within modern Western societies, many intellectual, technical, scientific, political and financial resources have been used to create, apply and respect codes of behaviour. Such fixation towards a code to follow emerges also within recent moral debates and deeply affects the realm of politics: in the latter one could notice an indiscriminate proliferation of codes legally binding, that overcome the reasonable limits of an indispensible legislation. On one hand normative systems represent a fundamental resource in order to pursue social and political order; on the other they contribute to develop the attitude to delegate one’s own responsibilities to a set of norms to respect. This volume wants to investigate the deep roots of such attitude, relocating rules and norms within a relational context.
