Abstract
The analysis of Robert Musil's Work, "Die Verwirrungen des Zoeglings Toerless", offers to the lawyer and the legal scholar manifold hints: the awareness of the limits of formal categories of law to grasp the richness and complexities of individual and social life, but also the need to stick to rationality, without undergoing the traps of irrationality; the importance for any regulation to know human motivations and feelings, in order to achieve adequate compliance.
