Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] The official periodical press of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, born in 1816 from the unification of the Kingdom of Naples and the Kingdom of Sicily following the Bourbon restoration, offers images and models built in terms of propaganda seasoned with a constant chauvinistic background: music, among the fine arts it is "the one in which the primacy seems to be accorded to the Neapolitans". If this primacy is granted 'by nature' it is equally natural to say that the history of the conservatives of the capital is "by adventure that of modern music". The essay draws on the official periodical press ("Giornale delle Due Sicilie") to highlight how the Bourbon restoration coincides with a model of restoration of ancient primates in the field of musical education in the Rossini years (1815-1822).
