Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] For palaeographic and philological reasons, for the Florentine Pandects the origin was proposed in southern Italy, presumably in the monastery founded by Cassiodoro in Vivarium. It has been assumed that, far from being a manuscript written in the imperial chancellery, it was built using specimens now corrupted by use, in order to preserve such an important text, which otherwise, due to the current situation, would have been destined to disappear
