Abstract

[Autom. eng. transl.] Responsibility requires a civic, democratic, ecological sense in the first person with respect to the feeling that it is the right and duty for everyone to take charge of our planet, of safeguarding the environment, of the dramatic problems of our time, of the life of living beings, of nature of the sources of livelihood (Mortari, 2008). The values of responsibility are inspired by the democratic principles of justice, peace, freedom, human development in its plurality of experiences. Democratic participation and the integration of everyone's skills is a challenging but necessary process to translate sustainable development into concrete and fruitful actions, in particular by activating the local community. The Christian Associations of Italian Workers aps (ACLI) is the organization identified as a case of investigation in which to deepen the "social knowledge" for the care of the common home through the commitment to the promotion of the Social Doctrine of the Church, integral ecology and of sustainable development.
